Overview

In this NC Manufacturing Engineering course, you will learn both traditional and modern manufacturing processes with the accompanying theory. You could learn how to turn and mill in our workshop that is used to train Modern Apprentices before they go into the workplace. You will also learn the fundamentals of CNC and Computer-aided Draughting.

Entry

Applicants must be employed as a trainee and/or apprentice in a related industry at time of application. Employer references are required.

  • 3 Higher grade passes in English, MathematicsĀ and Physics

or

  • successful completion of a National Certificate EngineeringĀ course.
  • Alternatively, relevant applicants with relevant industrial experience will be considered on an individual basis.
Learn

The course includes:

  • Mathematics for Engineering 1
  • Quality Management an Introduction, Engineering Drawing, Communication, Computer Numerical Control,
  • Process and Equipment Selection, Engineering Principles,
  • Material Selection, CAD, Economics of Manufacture
  • Graded Unit 1.

There is continuous assessment throughout and an external graded unit examination at the end of the course. Students should be in full-time employment.
