Art and Design students at New College Lanarkshire have had a messy first few days at college – after taking part in department-wide event, ‘PaintFest’.

HNC and returning HND Art and Design students from the College’s Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch Campuses descended on the specialist art facility in Kirkintilloch ready to unlease their creative juices.

Hosted by the teaching staff of the Art and Design department in the Faculty of Creative Industries, PaintFest aimed to welcome back former students while allowing new students to begin their time at college in a fun, relaxed and creative environment.

Kelly Cunningham, Art & Design Lecturer, said:

“The idea of PaintFest is to start the creative year with a bang – giving our students the chance to meet, get creative and generally have a good time.

Bringing students from all campuses together at the start of the year is important as they again unite at the end of the year for their end of year exhibition – so it is good for them to get to know each other now.

The day was the ultimate painting party made up of great team work, a bit of freestyle art with additional madness and mayhem thrown in!”
