A former student of the year recently returned to the College to share her industry insights with current students.

Lindi Harrison, an Artist and Animator at Extra Mile (EM) Studios, paid a visit to the Motherwell Campus to speak with HND 3D Computer Animation students to give them inspiration and encouragement for their future.

Named student of the year in 2016 for her outstanding commitment to the course, Lindi has had a successful career since leaving college, and wanted to share her experiences with the students who hope to follow in her footsteps following completion of the course.

Always her dream to work in the games industry, Lindi spoke of her job with EM Studios, developing digital content for mobile, PC and console markets, and did a question and answer session giving advice on preparation, portfolios, attitudes to studies and breaking into the industry.

Mark Murray, Lecturer and Course Leader of 3D Computer Animation, NQ Animation and Art and Design, said: “Lindi have an enjoyable and inspiring talk to the students at an important time of their academic journey.

“She is a fantastic example of how hard work can really pay off – making it in the industry and having her dream job only one year since being named student of the year at the College.”
