A huge well done to everyone involved in the Knockhill simulator challenge on Friday to raise money for Vehicle Body Repair student Matt Tomney. Scores of staff and students from the Motherwell Campus got behind the wheel of a modified Legends race-car to complete a virtual lap of Knockhill. New College Lanarkshire Principal Martin McGuire and Assistant Principal Robert McMillan met Matt and the 10-strong team of fundraisers at the engineering block. All money raised will go towards helping Matt's family travel with him to Florida next month for proton beam therapy to save the sight in his right eye. Matt lost his left eye to a rare type of tumour called an optic glioma.
