Networking event inspires innovation for Lanarkshire businesses

Over 40 representatives from local businesses attended the Lanarkshire Business Hub’s most recent networking breakfast.

Held in partnership with Scottish Enterprise and the Federation of Small Businesses, the event welcomed Anne Hilarion of Scottish Entperprise and James Fleming of The Power Within Coaching Ltd., who offered their experience and expertise to attendees at the event in Prism House, East Kilbride.

Anne Hilarion, from the Scottish Enterprise Innovation Support Service, works with clients across Scotland to bring new and innovative products and services to the market.  Her presentation - “Scottish Enterprise – Supporting Your Business to Innovate” gave an insight into company innovation and how the Scottish Enterprise Innovation Team can support businesses.   

James Fleming, Owner and Director of The Power Within Coaching Ltd., also presented and led a lively discussion on ‘Youth of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow’.  Having had career success within HR Management and Talent Development in the Oil and Gas Industry, James is now a life, career and business coach and motivational speaker. He also with works with Kieran Aitken and Orbit Enterprise Education delivering entrepreneur ‘hot housing’ within schools, developing talent from an early age.

Deborah Grant, Business Development Manager at New College Lanarkshire, said: “This networking event was of great benefits to businesses of all shapes and sizes in the area.

“Innovation is a huge part of business success, and both speakers highlighted the importance of it within the workplace.

“We look forward to welcoming even more members to the next event in November.”

Run by New College Lanarkshire and sponsored by North and South Lanarkshire Councils, Lanarkshire Business Hub offers local businesses a free forum to meet and share business knowledge and experience.
