One of the New College Lanarkshire’s longest-standing apprenticeship providers, L&H Dental Care in Hamilton, has been working training and developing apprentices with us for over 15 years.
Putting around 30 apprentices through their paces with many entering directly into employment with the practice, L&H Dental Care has fully experienced the benefits an apprentice can bring to an organisation.
We spoke with Sharon Kearney, Practice Administrator about her experience of having an apprentice.
“We have a long standing relationship with New College Lanarkshire due to the high quality of apprentices they develop, and the standard of the apprenticeship programme on offer.
Having an apprentice works for us as we can offer learning and support to someone who is starting out on their career, which suits the dynamics of our practice and allows us to observe the apprentice progressing and becoming a loyal member. It is extremely rewarding to us as an organisation to see how beneficial an apprenticeship is!
Every employer should take on at least one apprentice, as it provide learning and practical skills in a supportive and encouraging environment, and this combined with the additional knowledge and education provided by New College Lanarkshire offers the apprentice the perfect platform to achieve success, which benefits us a team and also offers encouragement to those involved with training.
Having an apprentice definitely works for L&H Dental Care and we can’t wait to welcome more in the future!”
