Welcome to our college community, where nobody belongs here more than you! We will work closely with you to personalise your experience and ensure you have the support you need to make the most of your time at NCL
New College Lanarkshire has transitioned to online learning due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
With the increase in online learning as a result of the spread of Coronavirus, this guidance has been produced to guide you through your first days as an New College Lanarkshire student.
Please remember that as one of our students, you have access to a range of specialist support services to help you during term time and holidays. We have created a Student Support Guide to let you know about all the ways we can support you. It also lets you know about other organisations that can support you.
Ready to get started? Let's go.
To access NCL digital resources, you will need a College account. Your student reference number is used as your user account login, this reference number can be found in your offer of course email. If in doubt, please check this with your lecturer during your first induction day.
Your initial password is set to your date of birth as 8 numbers (e.g. 25121970). You’ll change this password when you first log on. Try it now by logging into your Office 365 account.
Please make sure you have read and fully understood the ICT Policy.
As we continue to deliver our curriculum through a digital platform, the College uses Zoom to connect you with your lecturer and classmates.
Before your first day please download Zoom onto your Laptop, Tablet or Mobile Phone.
The College also makes use of Microsoft Teams for file sharing and collaboration. You can download MS Teams here by logging into the Office 365 portal. When you login please remember to use your student account details.
Everything you need in the one place at the click of a button!
The student portal is a simple, personalised and efficient way for you to keep up to date with college life. You can access MyNCL two ways, via our website or download the app straight to your phone.
To download the free MYNCL app, all you have to do is:
If you are using the app for the first time, your password will be your date of birth (DDMMYYYY).
This year, your NCL Student Card will be available electronically via the YOTI app.
To access your electronic student card please follow the NCL student card guidance.
When you install the app, it will ask you to register your email. You must use your college email address e.g. email@example.com – and not your private email address – otherwise it will not recognise you as an NCL Student.
Please note that you are not required to download the Yoti App to access college services, downloading Yoti is voluntary. To access the Yoti App you will need to accept Yoti's Terms and Conditions.
Students can request a plastic ID Card if required by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
