Overview

Are you creative and not sure which direction to take your skills? Then this course is for you! This advanced portfolio course gives you the opportunity to have fun while experimenting within a range of Art & Design disciplines including: drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration, photography, graphic design and textiles.

In addition to going out on location for research and inspiration you will create interesting work in our custom-built studios, take part in group discussions and work on college-based briefs as well as live projects with real clients.  You bring the creativity and enthusiasm and we will provide all the materials, equipment, inspiration and teaching needed to succeed.

 

Entry
  • National 4 or above Art & Design or Graphic Communications
  • National 4 or above English

OR

  • Experience and passion for the visual and creative arts.

Please note: You will also be required to attend an interview and provide a small portfolio demonstrating your creative skills.

You will learn how to use materials and techniques in a playful and creative way resulting in exciting sketchbooks and final pieces which reflect YOUR interests and passion. You will also be given guidance on how to research, generate ideas and develop your creative skills, looking at your environment and other artists and designers as creative inspiration.

You will produce a personal portfolio of multiple experimental sketchbooks and final artworks that will help you advance to the next step in your creative industries career. Additionally, you will take part in collaborative projects and exhibit your work at the end-of-year exhibition.
