Overview

This course offers a high-level beauty qualification which will provide you with the knowledge of current advanced beauty treatments, products and techniques. An employment driven focus throughout all aspects of the course ensures that you are employment ready and have great success in developing careers within the industry. You will learn the therapeutic skills and knowledge you need to move into the highest level of the beauty industry, gaining more hands-on experience through working in our professional & twilight salons with professional range products.

Entry
  • HNC Beauty Therapy or HND Beauty Therapy (Year 1)
  • Experience within the Beauty/Spa industry may be an advantage.

Important note: You must be age 16 by 31st October. This is due to health and safety requirements.

Learn

Learning is achieved in many exciting ways such as demonstrations, lectures, group work, case studies, portfolio building, guest speakers, and practical salon/ Nail Bar workshops. Activities include demonstrations, lectures, seminars, group work, projects, and assessment (open and closed book).

We also have fully equipped salons where members of the public can book appointments and receive treatments to help our learners practice their skills.

Units undertaken may include the following:

  • Advanced Facial and Body Therapy Techniques
  • Lifestyle Advice for Clients
  • Aromatherapy
  • Make-up skills
  • Promotional and Selling skills
  • Graded Unit 2
  • Aromatherapy Massage
  • Signature Massage
  • Contemporary Massage

The above units are examples of what will be delivered within this course but may vary across campuses.

During the course, you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of linked activities including visits to trade fairs and exhibitions, the chance to participate in beauty competitions, presentations and demonstrations and to undertake training with commercial companies.

Please note: There is an additional cost for you course kit, uniforms and books. Students will be expected to bring in clients for practice and assessment purposes. One twilight session per week may be required.
