This course is designed to introduce you to a wide range of skills and technologies that are needed to succeed in today’s diverse and rapidly expanding software sector. With close ties to industry, this course has the agility to adapt to ensure the skills that you learn are relevant in today’s market place.


Course Information

  • Direct entry into Year 2 of this course will be considered if you have a current HNC Computing (preferably 15 credits).
  • Entry is also subject to a satisfactory interview, and an academic reference may be requested.

This course gives you the opportunity to learn the skills required to succeed in diverse areas of software development. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in many areas including the following:

·         Programming in high level languages (C#, Java)

·         Data structures and algorithms

·         Dynamic web design and development

·         Database development including SQL and Oracle

·         Development methodologies such as Agile and test driven

The skills that you will learn can be applied to a wide range of topics within the software development sector, from established areas of database management through games and into continuously emerging technologies (mobile app development, games and web).

Direct entry into year 3 of a range of degree programmes at selected universities.

Completing this course will provide you with skills to succeed in a wide range of jobs within the highly diverse and exciting software industry.
