This course is specifically targeted towards females who might like to access the construction industry through both traditional trade and professional careers routes. It will show just how popular these careers can be and highlight the successes females continue to have in the sector.
ANY STUDENT WHO HAS SCHOOL EXAMS DURING THIS COURSE WILL BE RELEASED FOR THEM.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but students who have National 5 qualifications will have an advantage in progressing into the professional career routes.
While this is a practical, trade-based qualification, we are hoping to engage students in trade subjects and showcase the professional careers available in industry to help close the gender gap and meet the growing demand for females in the wider construction sector.
This course is designed with and supported by many companies throughout Lanarkshire including four National Contractors who sit on the Lanarkshire framework - Morrison Construction, Kier, Graham and Morgan Sindall.
Due to this support there is a likelihood of work placements for students who excel above and beyond their peers, possibly leading to direct employment.
