CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme): Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment

This course is aimed at construction industry workers, or people who want to work in the industry and can be used as preparation for the construction Health and Safety test. 

The Course covers IOSH Working Safely and health & safety awareness to include principles of risk assessment, the importance of safe manual handling, working safely at height, the risks to health within the construction environment and the importance of working around plant and equipment safely.

There are no formal entry requirements.

Specific content for the CSCS Test preparation includes:

  • Accident Prevention
  • Accident Reporting
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Excavations and Confined Spaces
  • Fire Prevention
  • Health and Hygiene
  • Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  • Manual Handling
  • Noise and Vibration
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Safe Use of Vehicles and Environmental Safety

Upon completion of training, each participant will undertake the CSCS test and IOSH Working Safely test.  IOSH Certification and Operative Cards will be processed and supplied for each successful candidate.

Further study could include IOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH Certificated Health and Safety course.
