Course overview
The Higher Dance course encourages you to be inspired and challenged when developing technical dance skills and performing, creating and appreciating dance. You will use theoretical knowledge and practice, and develop understanding of a range of dance techniques and choreographic skills.
What you will learn
For the external assessment you will complete a practical assignment.
Choreography: You must choreograph a dance for two or more dancers (excluding self) which should last a minimum of 2 minutes.
Dance Performance: You must provide evidence of competence in two different specialist dance techniques by performance tutor-led dance sequences, both lasting a minimum of 2 minutes.
This practical assignment is divided into planning, developing and evaluating stages where you will provide underpinning written evidence and maintain a portfolio, charting your personal experience during the choreographic and performance processes

Course overview
The National Progression Award (NPA) in Acting and Performance at SCQF Level 6 will give you the opportunity to further develop knowledge and understanding of theatre.
What you will learn
Entry requirements
An SCQF level 5, National 5 Drama or SCQF level 6 (Higher Drama). You must also wish to further your practical skills and knowledge of musical theatre.
Progression
On successful completion of this course, you can progress onto HNC/D Acting & Performance, develop further study in Further or Higher Education or gain employment opportunities.
Course overview
The National Progression Award (NPA) in Professional Theatre offers you the opportunity to develop skills in acting, dancing and/or musical theatre. The NPA provides the knowledge, skills, and resources that may be called upon when preparing for interviews and auditions for entry to drama courses and/or the theatre or performing arts profession.

Entry requirements
Minimum of National 5 Drama.
Progression
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto HNC/D Musical Theatre, HNC/D Acting & Performance or further study in Further or Higher Education
Course overview
The NPA Musical Theatre at National 6 offers you the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of acting, music and dance, all in the context of musical theatre.

Minimum of National 5 Music or Drama (SCQF Level 5)
Progression
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto HNC/D Musical Theatre or further study in Further or Higher Education
