Course overview
The course is designed to introduce you to the Hospitality Industry. The course will be classroom based incorporating qualifications to support employability within the industry and to raise awareness of the range of careers available.
What you will learn
You will develop knowledge of the legislation in regards to the sale and service of alcohol within Scotland and the operation of licensed premises from the customer service perspective. In addition, this qualification can be used to gain employment within Licensed Premises of the Hospitality industry.
Entry requirements
You must have an interest in the Hospitality Industry and wish to gain a deeper insight into the opportunities for a career within it.
Progression
HNC Hospitality at New College Lanarkshire (subject to entry qualifications) or employment within the Hospitality Industry as a team member front of house.
Course overview
The course is designed to build on the National 3/4 Hospitality: Practical Cookery delivered in schools. The course will be practical based to support progression into the FE environment and to raise awareness of the skills required in a kitchen environment.
What you will learn
The programme will be delivered by professional chefs who have proven themselves in industry to inspire and motivate you towards a career in a Professional Kitchen.
The duration of this course is 6 hours per week for the school year.
Entry requirements
You must have an interest in cookery and the Hospitality Industry in general. You must also have the ambition to become a chef and want to learn about food, its preparation and cooking.
Progression
Application to a Professional Cookery course at New College Lanarkshire at either Cumbernauld or Motherwell Campus.

The course is designed to build on the National 4 Hospitality: Practical Cookery delivered in schools. The course will be practical based to support progression into the FE environment and to raise awareness of the skills required in cake production, a skill within the Bakery industry.
What you will learn
The programme will be delivery by professional chefs/bakers who have proven themselves in industry, to inspire and motivate the pupils towards a career in a Professional Kitchen or Bakery.
The duration of this course is 6 hours per week for the school year.
Entry requirements
You must be an S5/6 pupil progressing from National 4 and have an interest in cake baking and finishing and the Hospitality Industry in general. You must have the ambition to become a baker or pastry chef and want to learn about cake production in particular.

Application to a Professional Cookery or Bakery course at New College Lanarkshire at either Cumbernauld or Motherwell Campus.
