What is the Skills Challenge?

The Skills Challenge aims to give current NCL Modern Apprentices the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge in a competitive, real-life scenario. It will also give them the opportunity to further their learning – with a prize of a funded place at the IFSEC Skills Challenge. The successful winner will go onto compete at the national competition in London, where the overall winner is awarded £1000.


What does it involve?

Students will be:

  • Challenged to install and commission either a fire alarm or intruder alarm system to the relevant British and European standards within two-hours.
  • Complete a theory test.

All competitors will be assessed by an industry expert either from one of our employers, skills for security or BSIA.

What will they win?

Internal winners will receive a paid place at the 20th anniversary of IFSEC Engineers of tomorrow engineer skills challenge in London - http://www.ifsec.events/international/engineers-tomorrow.

This a prestigious event, where the winners attend the security excellence awards in London Hilton on Park Lane. The overall winners receive an award and £1000.
