A former music student of New College Lanarkshire has just released his debut single, ‘Vodka Lemon Lime’.

Gordon Robertson, who studied HNC Music at our Motherwell Campus, performed the self-penned track at Butefest in Rothesay on the day of its release.

The track was produced in association with London-based management company The Animal Farm.

A talented singer-songwriter, Gordon performs a mix of original material – including his Andy Murray-inspired track ‘Number One (A Postbox Painted Gold)’ – and cover versions.

Last year he supported acclaimed American band Us The Duo during the Scottish leg of their world tour.

Gordon, who won a bronze medal performing with The Lynchpins at WorldSkills UK in November 2016, said his time as a student at New College Lanarkshire has provided a solid foundation for his future career.

He said: "There are so many of my day-to-day activities that I take for granted now which I learned at NCL.

“Not just in performance, but everything behind the scenes related to the promotion and business side of releasing a single.

“I'm really thankful to my lecturers, Scott Cowie and Yvonne Tipping, for their knowledge and industry expertise as well as their continued support since I left.”

The song is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Google Play Music, Amazon Music and SoundCloud.
