NCL Shortlisted in 3 CDN Awards categories
New College Lanarkshire has secured three entries on the shortlist in the CDN's 2026 awards - recognising excellence across the college sector.
The college's entries make the cut among 195 submissions received across Scotland's college sector. NCL is competing for awards recognition across three categories: the Professional Services Colleague of the Year, the Showcasing Colleges Award, and the Thriving Together Award.
Jaz Sandhu, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Adviser at NCL, has progressed to the shortlist for the Professional Services Colleague of the Year Award.
This is for Jaz's work on International Week, Breaking the Cycle and working with students on their 16 Days of Activism campaign.
The college's Better Than 52 initiative has secured a place on the Showcasing Colleges Award shortlist. This category recognises outstanding work in raising the profile and demonstrating the value of Scotland's colleges, highlighting creative approaches to student and stakeholder engagement.
Better Than 52 has saw NCL challenge the healthy life expectancy in North Lanarkshire sitting at just 52.
Meanwhile, A Guide to Scots Law project has made the shortlist for the Thriving Together Award, which celebrates initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion and support for students navigating challenges.
A Guide to Scots Law - updated for the first time in a decade and translated into 13 languages - was created in partnership with the Scottish Government, Police Scotland, Crimestoppers and the Scottish Refugee Council.
Carolyn Conlin, Academic Leader, said: "I am delighted that the work the students have put into this booklet has been further recognised through this nomination.
"Keeping people safe and on the right side of the law is always a priority of our legal students and to extend that to people coming to Scotland from other countries is a privilege."
Winners will be announced at the CDN College Awards ceremony on Thursday 3 December 2026 at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow, hosted by broadcaster Amy Irons.
