Three staff members have recently returned from China after a visit to confirm a new partnership with Heze Medical College in Shandong Province.

Lecturers June MacDonald and Lisa McCorkindale, both from the Faculty of Care and Science, joined International Manager Hazel Scott on the visit to Beijing and Heze City to meet with Mr Jingtao Li, the College’s representative in China, and Heze Medical College representatives.

The partnership will include the joint delivery of programmes in dental nursing with the College providing online access to non-accredited dental materials, as well as offering opportunities for staff training and student exchange.

The agreement also forms the foundation for the two colleges to participate in other collaborative activities in a range of vocational areas.

During the visit, June and Lisa had the chance to deliver bespoke lectures to nursing students focussing on care for the elderly.

The group also represented the College at the 2018 British Business Awards Gala dinner in Beijing, after being shortlisted for the Educational Institutional Partnership of the Year Award for our unique dental nursing joint delivery activities with Youjiang Medical University.

Representatives from three partner colleges and universities in China were at the award ceremony, which provided a great opportunity to strengthen NCL’s partnership relations in China.
