Stirling Gin project for art and design students

Art and Design students from New College Lanarkshire recently collaborated with Stirling Gin to generate its latest promotional material.

HNC students took part in the project as part of their Graphic Design unit, working to a live brief from Stirling Gin to design a range of promotional material including labels for a new range of gins.

The students developed their ideas and pitched them to Cameron McCann, CEO of Stirling Gin, alongside key stakeholders.

Stephanie Wilson was named the overall winner of the competition, winning a cheque for £100 and the chance to see her designs come to life.

She said: “It felt good for my work to be used on an actual live project. I’m really pleased all my hard work paid off.”

Cameron McCann from Stirling Gin said: “We were delighted to support the students in this project.

“We obtained several ideas from them, however Steph really shone out as we felt she grasped the brief and worked hard producing a great standard of work.

“We are sure if she keeps up this level she will be a credit to the department."

Sandra Ord, Lecturer at New College Lanarkshire, said: “This was a great project for the students to take part in as it gave them a taste for the kind of briefs they will be given in industry.

“In such a competitive market it was no easy task, but each of the students came up with an individual design to meet the brief.

“We are delighted that Stephanie was recognised for following the brief closely and for her high standard of work.

“I’d like to thank Cameron and all at Stirling Gin for giving the students this opportunity.”
