Overview

The  Level 4 qualification is a vocationally related qualification for the housing sector and is comparable in level to the first year of an undergraduate degree.

The objective of this course is to provide learners with a mix of technical knowledge and understanding of housing practice at a management level covering key aspects of housing policy and legislation. 

Entry

Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) has no formal entry requirements but recommends the qualification is suitable for learners that

  • are in or aspiring to a supervisory or management role in housing
  • have completed a Level 3 qualification or experience of working in housing preferably at supervisory or management level.

Year 1 subjects: Housing Need Demand & Supply, Housing Policy, Partnership working, Finance for Housing, Housing Law and Professional Practice Skills.

Students are actively encouraged by the Tutor to make use of IT, and the college library especially, with the newly-developed housing section material, which offers a wide range of books and journals, as part of their course development.

The course has been designed by CIH in order to provide students with a firm grounding of Management in UK covering a broad spectrum of subjects which encapsulates the housing profession in modern day UK.
