New College Lanarkshire recently welcomed partners from China to strengthen our international dental offering.

Members of the Dental Nursing and International teams hosted staff from Youjiang Medical University in the Guangxi Zhuang Province of China.

Mrs Zhao Lijuan, Vice President of the University, was joined by her colleagues, Mrs Li Yuqun, Associate President, Mr Lin Xu, Associate Dean, School of Clinical Medicine, Mr Pan Ningmin, Associate Dean, School of Physical Education and Mr Li Peilong, Director of Admissions and International Programmes.

The visit offered the opportunity to discuss the current partnership, which includes the College providing online access to non-accredited dental materials and offering opportunities for staff training and exchange.

The group also discussed the recently introduced Dental Nursing degree programme, delivered at New College Lanarkshire and validated by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). Dean of Health and Life Sciences at UWS, Julie Edgar, and Senior Lecturer, Claire Chalmers, joined the discussions to look at potential opportunities to offer the BSc Dental Nursing degree to students from Youjiang Medical University.
