During the course of the programme apprentices will gain the knowledge and skills required to help them become competent technicians in the workplace. Topics covered begin with workplace safety, engineering skills and leading to remove and refit fixed body panels, major panel repair, MIG/MAG welding, MIG brazing, spot welding, bonding, aluminium repair and rectifying body misalignment.
Completion of the apprenticeship could lead to progressing towards Senior Panel Technician, Bodyshop Supervisor, or Bodyshop Manager.
Candidates must be employed within the automotive repair industry and working in the area of vehicle body repair. We advise candidates have an SCQF level 4 in English, Maths and a science subject.
