Beauty Therapy - Access to HNC
Overview
This course will equip you with an excellent range of advanced skills for a career in the dynamic, exciting world of Beauty Therapy. During this one year course, you will develop your Beauty Therapy skills to enable you to access entry to HNC Beauty Therapy. You will study beauty treatments for face, body and nails which are current and desirable in the Beauty Industry at the moment.
This is a fast paced course which will teach you the therapeutic skills and knowledge you need to move into the higher levels of the beauty industry and to perform a variety of advanced beauty treatments in line with industry requirements. This course provides the qualifications you need to gain a junior role within the Beauty Industry, or entry to higher-level courses. (HNC/D Beauty Therapy)
Entry
Minimum entry requirements:
3 x National 4 Awards or 3 Standard Grades at Grade 4 or above is desirable however excellent communication skills and passion and enthusiasm for this subject is essential. Successful completion of Level 4 Beauty Care or NPA equivalent is an advantage. You will be invited for a competitive interview where you will have the opportunity to find out more about the course and share why you are interested in a career in Beauty Therapy.
Please Note - Due to Health and Safety legislation, applicants must be 16 years of age by 31st October 2024.
Learn
Learning is achieved using a variety of exciting and innovative methods such as demonstrations, lectures, group work, role-play, portfolio building, guest speakers.
Theory elements are delivered face to face via online training lessons and demonstration videos. This is combined with Moodle which hosts our course learning materials and activities.
Practical activities are facilitated in our fully equipped salons.
You will be required to participate in performing and receiving all the services that you are being trained in. This participation is mandatory. You will perform assessments on live clients.
