NCL deliver a range of employability programmes that are as varied as they are exciting – some recent examples are students renovating a community centre in Coatbridge, putting social media skills to use in a Motherwell contact centre and working in security at Celtic Football Club.
With a strong focus on work experience, the courses respond to the different needs of each individual, while adapting to employer demands locally.
Applicants must meet certain criteria, including being unemployed and aged over 16 years-old.
If you’re unemployed, resident in East Dunbartonshire and aged 16+, you can retrain to work within the Care sector.
There is no cost to trainees and the course lasts for 9 weeks (6 weeks class-based learning and 3 weeks work experience).
This course offers students the opportunity to learn a range of Employability & Care skills and experience working in a care environment.

If you’re unemployed, resident in North Lanarkshire and aged 18+, you can retrain to become a Clinical Support Worker for NHS Lanarkshire.
There is no cost to trainees and the course lasts for 6 weeks (4 weeks class based learning and 2 weeks work experience).
This course offers students the opportunity to learn a range of clinical skills and experience working in a hospital environment.
