Representatives from the US Consulate General in Edinburgh recently visited New College Lanarkshire to initiate a partnership with the Business Development Team.
Principal Officer Susan A. Wilson and Robbie McGregor, Programmes and Engagement Manager visited the College’s Coatbridge Campus to discuss future collaborative projects between the US and Scotland.
The guests were given a tour of the campus facilities, including the state-of-the-art conferencing centre, 101 Park Street, and the specialist dental facilities.
Students and staff members from across the campus then attended a presentation by Susan about the US Consulate and their international ambitions.
The activities were hosted by Principal Martin McGuire, along with Robert McMillan, Assistant Principal: Business Development, Clare Flynn, Head of Faculty: Care & Science, Jennifer Lowe, Assistant Head of Faculty: Care & Science, Nicola Wyman, Assistant Head of Faculty: Care & Science, Shona Pettigrew, Head of External Funding and International and Hazel Scott, International Manager.
Hazel said: “The opportunity to have such a senior diplomat visit the College and speak to our learners presented an excellent opportunity to discuss the US-Scotland relationship.
“We have a number of strong international partnerships that benefit our learners and we hope that this is the start of a productive relationship between the College and the US Consulate.”
