You’ll need to use our College Buzzword: NCLAN2027 when submitting your UCAS application. This links your application to New College Lanarkshire, allowing your referee to view it and provide your academic reference.
Once you’ve decided to move on to university, just ask your lecturer or Academic Leader for an academic reference to support your application.

Enquire with Lecturer/Academic Leader about an academic reference which is required as part of your UCAS application.
Work through all sections of the UCAS Application, being mindful of UCAS deadlines. If you need further assistance, you can contact your Academic Leader or local Student Adviser.
Once you have finalised all parts of your UCAS application, please let your referee know. The referee will write your reference, review your application and submit before the deadline (mid January for most courses).
Confirm your referee has sent your Undergraduate application to UCAS.
After submission, monitor your Application via the UCAS Hub.
Make sure you submit your completed application, including your reference to UCAS by the deadlines below.
13 January 2027 (6pm UK time) Equal consideration deadline for most undergraduate courses. Submit by this date to make sure your application gets full consideration.
25 February 2027 UCAS Extra opens for eligible applicants. This gives you another chance to apply if you haven’t received any offers.
30 June 2027 (6pm UK time) Final deadline for UCAS to send your application to your chosen university. After this date, any new applications will automatically go into Clearing.
1 July 2026 Last date to add an extra choice to your UCAS application.
The Application fee for 2026 Entry is £34.50 for up to 5 choices.
Once you’ve sent off your UCAS application, it’ll be passed on to the universities you’ve chosen. They’ll review your application and might invite you to an interview or audition before deciding whether to make you an offer.
