Hannah Carragher

President of Curriculum and Engagement

My name is Hannah Carragher and I'm a 20-year-old student at NCL alongside being Student President of Curriculum & Engagement. I study TV, Film and Theatre Make-up Artistry and have been studying make-up for the past five years. I started make-up when I was 13 with a passion for Special Effects, horror and gore are my thing.

During my time at this role I hope to make positive changes and break down barriers of subjects others may be scared to speak out about. I also hope to provide support to those who need it particularly in the areas of mental health and disabled students as I struggle with mental health and have a disability. Also, I want to support any and ALL students throughout their journey at NCL.

Fun fact about me to finish this off - my favourite movie is The Mummy (Brendan Fraser versions) and I have a matching tattoo with his character Rick O'Connell! 😄

Alexandra Romeo Imade

President of Sustainable Partnership

Alexandra is leading on the development of an array of clubs and societies. She is working to broaden the sense of community in the College and in the role the College plays in the local community.

The 24-year-old, who is originally from Spain and now lives in Glasgow, completed HNC and HND Music at NCL’s Motherwell Campus after being introduced to the College through its partnership with Glasgow Music Studios.

Alexandra said: “I’ve always been very inspired by student movements from different parts of the world. They made me realise how much of an impact we can have on society for the better.

“With the different crises that are affecting us – Covid-19, climate change, humanitarian issues – I felt driven to help with change and I thought that a good place to start was within my own Students’ Association.”

Kellyann McGraith

President of Resource and Wellbeing

I'm Kellyann, I studied for two years at NCL and was a class rep for the two years and faculty rep for latter year. I really enjoyed studying and volunteering as a class rep. I passed my HNC and HND Fitness, Health and Exercise despite the pandemic which I’m really proud to say, and now I'm qualified as a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer.

My role as President is focused on wellbeing, and a lot of my studies were too, so I feel that I have a lot of knowledge and experience that I hope to extend to our students. I want students at NCL to feel supported and enjoy their college experience as much as I did whilst promoting healthy active lifestyles and encouraging everyone to get involved with some form of exercise, whether that’s competing as part of a team for the college or recreational exercise in their spare time.
