Professional Food and Beverage Service - Level 5
Overview
This course is an excellent opportunity for students to study and prepare for a career as a front of house professional with excellent opportunities and progression routes. This course allows students to concentrate on developing skills of food service within a range of styles, bar service with mixology and barista service in our industry orientated training restaurant, ML One.  As a student of the Culinary Arts Department, you would also be given opportunity to be part of the extracurricular activity that takes place each academic session, for example Culinary Arts/Hospitality orientated competitions, Industry visits, masterclasses etc. Choose a course with the Department of Culinary Arts and you will have an invaluable college experience, ensuring you are at the forefront of Hospitality & Culinary Arts, enhancing your life chances and opportunities.Â
Entry
Entry to this qualification is flexible and can include an SCQF level 4 Hospitality or Professional Cookery qualification. Equally it can also be the first course you have undertaken in Hospitality and can be used as an entry qualification, however, a desire to learn and a passion for hospitality will support your application. Â
Learn
This is an excellent introductory qualification for students wishing to pursue a career in the dynamic, popular, fast-paced and exciting world of hospitality.  You will also learn and experience a variety of customer-facing roles that may exist within the diverse Hospitality Industry. The qualification is structured to help develop the skills, knowledge, and understanding you'll need to secure employment within a professional hospitality orientated environment or for further study. Â
You will learn in a realistic Training restaurant, ML One in Motherwell Campus, this will equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in the Hospitality Industry. Additionally, you will learn a wide and varied array of subjects which will help you establish key skills and attributes that will be useful for a future career in the Hospitality Industry. Â
