HNC Art and Design
Overview
Do you love art and design and want to make a career out of it but are unsure which you love more art or design? Then our HNC in Art & Design will get you on the right path towards your dream!
HNC is an opportunity to have fun while discovering exciting techniques such as sculpting with clay, screen printing, exploring paint in an innovative way, taking on challenging design projects and developing your own illustrative style.
Entry
Successful completion of:
- NC/NQ Art and Design or equivalent creative NC/NQ qualification
OR
- 2 Highers preferably Art & English
Alternatively, other relevant work experience and or prior learning may be considered.
Please note: You will also be required to attend an interview and provide a portfolio demonstrating your creative skills.
Learn
Throughout your year of study, you will complete a series of projects with contemporary and relevant themes to challenge your creativity, imagination and critical thinking.
- Graphic Design & Illustration Project
- Drawing & Painting Project
- Sculpture Project
- Printmaking & Mixed Media Project
- Photography
- Portfolio Production
Projects include working with live clients as well as college based briefs and small scale exhibitions in both online and traditional formats.
