Being clean is a basic human right and not a privilege. It is crucial for our dignity, self-confidence and mental health. However a lack of basic hygiene products and toiletries is currently a huge concern for charities that provide support to people in crisis.
But we can all help.
Beauty Banks is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide daily hygiene essentials, toiletries and personal care items to people living in serious poverty.
New College Lanarkshire is now listed as an official ‘Public Beauty Spot’ for Beauty Banks – meaning we are an official donation point where you can donate items and join the movement.
Led by staff and students from Beauty and Nail Services in the Motherwell Campus, the College is joining the mission to eliminate hygiene poverty in Lanarkshire and the West of Scotland by collecting unused beauty products.
From 11 – 27 March, you can donate your new and unused products at our Public Beauty Spot in The Beauty Reception in the ground floor of the Motherwell Campus.
Your donations will then be collected by the Clyde, Avon and Nethan Foodbank who will thoughtfully package and mindfully distribute beauty parcels to those in our community who need our support.
