The first Lanarkshire Business Hub networking breakfast of the new session took place on Wednesday 26th September 2018, at New College Lanarkshire, Motherwell Campus, and was run in partnership Federation of Small Businesses.

We had almost 30 in attendance with a few new members coming along for the first time.

This first event of the session had a slightly different format to our usual, with just 45 minutes of networking at the start of the morning and an additional 45 minutes at the end.

The presentation took place in between the two networking sessions and we were delighted to welcome along Kieran Aitken, founder of Orbit Enterprise Education Ltd.  Kieran shared his story from starting his first business at the age of 16 to now running Orbit.  Kieran has already won Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards from both the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), and everyone enjoyed his inspirational talk.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) offers members a wide range of vital business services including advice, financial expertise, support and a powerful voice in government.  Their aim is to help smaller businesses achieve their ambitions.  As the largest business organisation in the UK, they represent around 1300 members in Lanarkshire.

Lanarkshire Business Hub offers local businesses a free forum to come together to meet and share their business knowledge and experiences through networking and business presentations.

The next event is being held on Thursday 25th October at the Viridor Recycling Centre in Newhouse.
