Prince’s Trust Summer Team Programmes Final Presentations

Young people from across Lanarkshire are celebrating success after completing a team-building programme led by The Prince’s Trust in partnership with New College Lanarkshire.

Hosted in the College’s Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Motherwell campuses, 33 participants have completed the Prince’s Trust 12-week summer Team Programme - a personal development project for 16-25 year olds to take steps towards future employment.

The group came together to celebrate their achievements and experiences at a ceremony held in 101 Park St., Coatbridge, in front of tutors, friends and family.

Some of the young shared their experiences of the programme, which included team-building, work experience and interpersonal skills development.

A former participant of the Programme and now volunteer supporter, Rebecca Chappell, attended the presentations. She said: “Prince’s Trust has definitely increased the confidence I have in myself and my abilities. After taking part in this program I am sure I can now do anything I set my mind to. I would encourage anyone thinking about joining team programme to do so. It’s an amazing programme and really helps young people.”

Atta Yaqub, Prince’s Trust Programme Manager, added: “We congratulate all the learners successfully completing the Team Programme.

“The Prince's Trust is a strong supporter and partner of New College Lanarkshire and aims to further develop the Team programme within the campuses as well as offering additional enrichment to participants where required.”

Stuart Matson, Community Programmes Manager responsible for Prince’s Trust Teams at New College Lanarkshire, said:  “Since the restart of Team programmes in January of this year, over 80 young people have benefitted in improving their skills, confidence and future prospects.

“We are now recruiting for our autumn teams and welcome any referrals or partnerships with employers and community agencies in regards to placements, community projects and team challenge opportunities.”
