Overview

Are you good with people, hardworking and creative? Then this could be the course for you! Introduction to Commercial Hairdressing is an entry level qualification for applicants with a keen interest in following a career in Hairdressing. This course is designed to develop your skills and knowledge in basic haircutting, colouring and styling and prepares you for further study and/or employment as a trainee stylist within a salon.

This course has a particular focus on the use of technology in Hairdressing and how to incorporate sustainability into Hairdressing practices. Applicants who meet the recruitment criteria will be provided with access to a hairdressing kit, appropriate protective clothing and learning materials.

 

Entry

To apply for this course you are required to have good communication skills and be hardworking and creative. You must also demonstrate a strong interest in hairdressing as a career.

Important Note: Due to Health and Safety Regulations, applicants must be at least 16 years of age by 31st October.

This programme of study requires weekly timetabled attendance at college and online, and may include a twilight session (4:30 to 6:30), and an agreed period of external salon placement.
