Hairdressing - Level 2 NVQ Diploma
Overview
Are you good with people, hardworking and creative? Then this could be the course for you! Our City and Guilds, NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing (SCQF Level 5) course will enable you to build on existing basic hairdressing skills and enable you to follow a career in hairdressing.
The course is designed to develop your skills and knowledge in basic hair cutting, colouring and styling and prepares you for further study and/or employment as a trainee hairstylist within a salon.
Entry
No formal qualifications are required however good communication skills and a keen interest in Hairdressing are essential.
Skills for Work: Hairdressing level 4 or 5 or equivalent would be an advantage.
Applicants who meet the recruitment criteria will be provided with access to a Hairdressing kit, appropriate protective clothing and textbooks.
Important note: Due to Health and Safety Regulations, applicants must be at least 16 years of age by 31st October 2024.

The above units are examples of what will be delivered within this course but may vary across campuses.
It may be necessary to attend a twilight class (4:30 until 6:30), one evening per week dependant on timetabling requirements.
