Overview


This course provides an opportunity for students who are returning to education to obtain the university entrance qualifications required for Social Work, Social Sciences/Humanities and Learning Disability Nursing.

Most subjects will be taught and assessed as a continuous process, Applied Mathematics is subject to a final exam. A combination of workbooks, practical activities, and written assessments are used to assess the level of knowledge and understanding.  

Students successfully completing this programme have articulated onto Social Work, Social Sciences and Learning Disability Nursing degree programmes. Alternatively, other successful candidates have progressed on to the current HNC Social Services or employment within the Care sector, joining the Health & Social Care career community.

Course Information


 

Applicants must be out of formal education for at least five years before the commencement of the course. 

In addition, you should have relevant formal and or informal care experience and a desire to pursue your chosen vocational path at degree or HNC level. Applicants should detail their experience and express their desire to pursue their goal within the Personal Statement of the Application.

If your Application meets the criteria, you may be invited to an interview and or Information Session.'

Learners will be in college for four full days. The college days start at 9am and finishes at 4:00pm.

Most candidates progress into their chosen vocational or academic career whether it is straight into university on degree programmes such as Social Work, Social Sciences or Learning Disability Nursing whilst others decide to pursue HNC Social Services at College.
