BA Acting

The BA Acting course at New College Lanarkshire in collaboration with Queen Margaret University (subject to validation) is aimed at those with excellent acting skills who are looking to become professional actors in theatre, film and television. All our expert teaching staff retain close links with the industry and will provide you with the necessary training to develop the skills and versatility needed to meet the vocal, physical and artistic demands placed upon a modern working actor.

Course Information


01 Entry

HND Acting and Performance or a HND in a related subject (e.g. Musical Theatre).

Higher English is strongly recommended.

The audition process will involve both practical and academic activities to enable a realistic assessment of your suitability for the course.

 

02 Learn

You will be provided with a wide range of performance opportunities underpinned by practical training and critical thinking and analysis. Subjects include:

  • Advanced Acting skills
  • Repertoire and Audition Technique
  • Showcase and Performance Project

You will have opportunities to work closely with the industry through a series of workshops, casting events and mock auditions. In the past, students have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals, artistic directors and casting directors including:

  • Bard in the Botanics
  • The Traverse Theatre

As the first recognised Educational Affiliate of Estill International, our specialist lecturers deliver some of the best vocal training in the UK.

BA students have the unique opportunity to complete level 1 and 2 of Estill Voice Training as part of the programme of study.
