Ready for Retail
Overview
Ready for Retail is a one-year, full-time course designed to prepare learners for volunteering or employment in the retail and customer service industries. This exciting, hands-on programme combines classroom learning with practical experience giving students the opportunity to develop key workplace skills in a real-life retail environment.
Although many learners progress onto this course from within New College Lanarkshire, it is also open to individuals with Additional Support Needs (ASN) who are ready to gain practical retail experience and build confidence in a supportive, inclusive setting.
- Learn by Doing: Students gain hands-on experience by running The Braw Wee Shop, an on-campus retail space where they plan, make, market and sell real products to customers.
- Develop Real Skills: Build customer service, teamwork, communication, and business awareness through both practical work and classroom study.
- Gain Recognised Qualifications: Work towards ASDAN units and college-based outcomes.
