Automotive Engineers of the future at Caldervale High School have been given the roadmap to success after learning about New College Lanarkshire’s automotive offering at a careers evening.
Lecturer Chris Wallace attended the careers evening for second year pupils and their families making their options choices for third and fourth year.
Chris provided advice and guidance on the various pathways New College Lanarkshire can offer for a career in the automotive industry, including Foundation and Modern Apprenticeships.
He told them about the facilities for automotive education on offer at New College Lanarkshire, some of the best in the education sector, including a state-of-the-art HGV Training Centre.
Chris said: “The College offers an impressive catalogue of automotive courses from apprenticeships right through to an advanced level. We boast some of the best training facilities in Scotland as well as established industry links to ensure students that pass through our doors leave highly skilled, confident and ready for a meaningful and worthwhile career.
“A large number of pupils from Caldervale were interested in what we had to offer and I can already see that some of our best automotive engineers of the future will come from this school.”
As well as offering information, Chris showcased various high-tech pieces of tooling and diagnostic equipment for pupils to see and learn about. He also displayed a Legend Vehicle Frame which is often used in school teaching programmes.
