We all use products – from cars to food, medical supplies to chairs – in our everyday lives. It’s up to mechanical engineers and manufacturing engineers to control the design and production of these items and the machinery that makes them. By studying HNC Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering at NC or HNC level, it could be a stepping stone to an engineering degree or a job working in heavy engineering, aerospace, consumer goods, electronics or pharmaceuticals.

Hairdressing team filmed for BBC Scotland series Mirror Mirror
Students honing their skills at an award-winning hair salon within University Hospital Wishaw are set to be featured in a BBC Scotland documentary. Two current New College Lanarkshire students were filmed for the series ‘Mirror Mirror’ as they carried out treatments on patients.
