First Steps to Childhood Practice
Overview
This course is ideal if you are looking to undertake a career in early learning and childcare. It enables adults returning to study, or students with few or no qualifications, the opportunity to gain entry to further early learning and childcare courses. Topics covered on the course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and the skills and qualities needed for working in an early learning and childcare setting.
*The curriculum and program title are currently under review. This review will not affect the program level or student applications. Any approved updates will be reflected in future publications. We are currently working with the early years' industry to create an exciting new level 4 programme.
Entry
Motivation, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in working with children. An interview is part of the selection process.
Due to health and safety legislation, please note that to be eligible for this course you must be 16 by 31st October 2026 .
