NQ Dance
Overview
Train hard. Dance every day!
Our NQ Dance course is a year to build your technique properly, across ballet, contemporary, jazz, commercial, tap and hip-hop.
You'll train in purpose-built dance studios with staff who are professionally trained dancers themselves, developing your strength, technique and performance quality, alongside choreography, dance history and safe practice.
There are performance opportunities and industry-led workshops throughout the year, and you'll finish ready to progress to HNC Professional Stage Dance or HNC Musical Theatre.
Entry
Who can apply
- Anyone with a real interest in dance. Previous training is helpful but not essential, and you don't need an English qualification, though it's useful to have one.
- If you've already completed an NQ Dance or a similar dance qualification elsewhere, we'd be glad to hear from you.
Your audition
You'll come to a dance audition and take part in classes across a variety of styles, taught on the day. We're looking at how you move, how you pick things up and how you work, rather than expecting you to know everything already.
On the day
Wear dance clothes you can move freely in, and bring any dance shoes you have. You're welcome to bring someone with you, though they'll wait outside.
Learn
You'll train across a wide range of styles and build the knowledge behind them.
