An Introduction to Joinery, Painting and Decorating

Overview

This short introductory course to Joinery, Painting and Decorating has been designed to bridge the gap from school or unemployment into meaningful college courses that will enable further progression into apprenticeships and other employment in the construction industry. A short course of purely practical work that is only two days per week will accommodate study time for crucial school exams at this time of year.

Successful attendance, attitude and achievement of this course will provide a student with preferential consideration for a place on a full-time course starting in August.

 

Students will be released for school exams as required.

Entry

There are no formal entry requirements for this course but applicants will need to display a genuine desire to succeed and progress onto further courses or employment.

Learn

You will learn practical trade skills in Joinery and Painting & Decorating. There are no formal qualifications from this course, rather it is seen as a way to bridge the gap from school or unemployment to a full-time college course while learning meaningful construction skills for the future.

The course is predominantly practical based in workshop and project areas you would need to attend one of the following attendance patterns, 0930-1545. Motherwell Campus.
