Overview

The BA Childhood Practice is delivered at the Coatbridge Campus in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland. The qualification is designed to ensure that leaders/managers in early years settings are qualified to Degree level and eligible to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The BA is a part-time evening course and runs one evening a week for two to four years depending on qualifications history, start and finish dates to be confirmed by UWS.

Start date is week beginning 9th September 2024

Entry

In order to apply for the BA you are required to hold a qualification at Practitioner level, either the HNC Childhood Practice/HNC Early Education and Childcare or a SVQ level 3. In addition to this you should have the PDA/HND Childhood Practice level 8 or a SVQ 4.  If there is a credit shortfall when calculating your relevant academic qualifications, you will have to complete an APEL (accreditation for prior learning) through UWS to reach the required credit level. This can be done prior to starting the course.

You must enter a full and detailed personal statement to the maximum characters allowed along with your work experience and qualifications. Failure to supply this information may result in your application being rejected.
