Hairdressing - Advanced Skills at SVQ Level 3
Overview
Do you have previous Hairdressing experience and a passion for hair? Would you like to explore your creativity as a hairdresser and challenge yourself to broaden your skills? Are you good with people, hardworking and creative? Then this could be the course for you! The practical activities and knowledge based tasks will enable you to enhance your existing commercial hairdressing techniques and perform at a higher level.
Applicants who meet the recruitment criteria will be provided with access to a hairdressing kit, appropriate protective clothing and learning materials.
Entry
Entry requirements for this course are:
- NCGA Level 5 Hairdressing or SVQ Level 2 Hairdressing or equivalent qualification
- Relevant Hairdressing experience
Important note: Due to Health and Safety Regulations, applicants must be at least 16 years of age by 31st October 2024.

The above units illustrate what can be delivered within this course however some units may vary across campuses.
This programme of study requires weekly timetabled attendance at college and online, and may include an agreed period of external salon placement.
It may be necessary to attend a twilight class (4:30 until 6:30), one evening per week dependant on timetabling requirements.
