Learn

You’ll study a carefully selected set of units that reflect how modern IT teams actually work:

  • DevOps Principles and Practice
Learn how today’s organisations deliver systems faster and more reliably. You’ll explore automation, version control, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring—key skills used by cloud and infrastructure teams worldwide.
  • Digital Forensics
Step into the world of cyber investigation. You’ll learn how digital evidence is identified, preserved and analysed, giving you valuable insight into security incidents and cybercrime.
  • Managing a Web Server
Get hands-on with real web server technologies. You’ll install, configure and secure web services, learning how modern websites and applications are hosted and managed.
  • Network Infrastructure
Build the backbone of IT systems. This unit covers network design, routing, switching and troubleshooting—essential skills for keeping organisations connected and operational.
  • Network Server Operating Systems
Learn how to deploy and manage server operating systems in professional environments, including user management, security, services and system resilience.
  • Professional Practice in Networking
Develop the skills employers value just as much as technical ability—communication, teamwork, documentation and project delivery—so you’re ready to step confidently into the workplace.

Studying Microsoft Windows client/server and Linux operating systems within virtualised environment provides hands-on experience and learning.

This course also provides opportunity to achieve professional qualifications from CompTIA, Oracle, Cisco and Microsoft.

All students will also have the opportunity to participate in training for the WorldSkills UK IT competitions. Past entrants from this course have gone on to represent the College in the national finals in Birmingham, with many achieving medal status.
