BSc Dental Nursing - Year 1

Overview

In Year 1, you’ll begin building your core knowledge and practical skills in dental nursing. You’ll study a range of subjects including clinical dental skills, oral health assessment, maintaining dentition, oral imaging and radiography and supporting non-routine treatments. You’ll also complete the ASPIRE: Foundations for Success module to support your wider learning.

The course is full-time, with around four days of study each week. This typically includes two days on campus and two days in a dental practice setting.

Your supervised clinical placement will help you apply what you’ve learned, developing your confidence and experience in a real working environment.
