SVQ 3 Social Services and Health Care
Overview
This is a work-based qualification which will give you registration with SSSC. You are required to be working in the health and social care sector within a care role with individuals requiring various aspects of care support. You need to be working at least 16 hours per week to enable completion of this work based learning course.
The course structure:
- 1 evening per month online support from a work based assessor
- Access to observe you within you work place is essential. A maximum of 3 observations are required.
- Weekly contact either by teams, email or face to face (your choice) with your Work Based Assessor to check progress, discuss plans and portfolio building.
This course is also beneficial for individuals who have available to individuals who have part of their SVQ from studying the HNC Social Services course. The course will allow you to gain the 5 remaining units for the full award.
Entry
You are required to be working in a care environment for a minimum of 16 hours per week and can give access to Work Based Assessors to carry out observations.
Learn
The SVQ Social Services and Health Care award has mandatory units in Communication, Health and Safety and Reflective Practice and includes an extensive list of optional units which you can with the support of your Work Based Assessor chose to study relating to your job role.
