BSc Dental Nursing - Year 3
Overview
The degree programme in Dental Nursing is the first of its kind for the industry – offering students the opportunity to study a university-validated qualification in a vibrant and innovative college environment. The course has been purposefully designed in response to demand from industry professionals to provide a programme of study for dental nurses to future-proof their career and place them at the same level as other professional groups within a dental team.
This degree is validated by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
Entry
To apply for the BSc Dental Nursing programme, you must:
- Successfully passed Year 2 of the BSc programme
- HND: Dental Nursing and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) awarded within the last 5 years.
Please note:
- Participation at an information session, skills assessment and interview forms part of the selection criteria.
- Access on to this course will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check in the form of an Enhanced PVG.
- A financial payment of £50 will be made by each student as a contribution towards PVGs, uniform and health clearance checks (this can be made in instalments or a one-off payment)
Learn
Full time: 4 days-2 days per week campus attendance and 2 days per week in placement You will develop knowledge and skills as you undertake the following modules:
- Dental nursing additional skills
- Research for dental practice
- Leadership and management in dental practice
- Technologies in dentistry
- Professional development
- Complex oral health care
Supervised clinical placement will continue to develop practical experience in a dental practice setting.
