Interested in a career in social work or nursing ? Our HNC Social Services course could be perfect for you! This course can help you gain employment in a number of fields including Mental Health Nursing, Learning Disability Nursing and General Nursing as well as Social Work and a host of other social services opportunities.
The course is a combination of taught units and workplace experience, and as such it is very much “hands-on”.
If you have recent experience of working in a care setting, or are working in care either on a voluntary basis or paid and would like to make a difference to people's lives while gaining a national qualification, then this course is you.

Applicants who will not be 17 by 31st August 2022 are unable to apply for this course due to placement requirements.
Experience of working in care, 2 Highers at least one of which should be English. Mature students may be considered with no formal qualifications.
Applications may be considered from individuals, who have successfully achieved the SCQF Level 6 Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services and Healthcare.

You will be given the opportunity of 2 days a week in a placement, agreed by the college staff, to expand your practical experience, developing knowledge and skills, and clearly identifying how you put these into practice.
You may be eligible to apply for BA Social Work, HND Social Science, BSc Nursing or BA (Hons) in Education and Social Services.
This course can lead you to employment in the care sector and therefore registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
